International English Language Testing System
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a globally recognized English language proficiency test designed for individuals who want to study, work, or migrate to English-speaking countries. Administered by the British Council, IDP Education, and Cambridge Assessment English, IELTS assesses a candidate's ability to communicate effectively in English.

The test evaluates four language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The Listening and Reading sections consist of multiple-choice, matching, and short-answer questions. The Writing section requires candidates to complete two writing tasks, such as describing a graph or writing an essay. The Speaking section is a face-to-face interview with an examiner, assessing the candidate's ability to express themselves verbally.

IELTS uses a nine-band scoring system, with each band representing a level of English language proficiency. The overall band score is the average of the four individual scores.
IELTS is widely accepted by educational institutions, employers, and immigration authorities in English-speaking countries. Depending on the purpose of taking the test, candidates can choose between the Academic or General Training modules.
