CM releases grant for overseas studies under JVVD
CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday said the state government will support all meritorious students from economically challenged families in pursuing their overseas higher education dreams. He said that the education sector has been transformed since it is the biggest asset the state could provide for future generations. He deposited Rs.19.95 crore under the Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena (JVVD) as the first installment of financial assistance.

174 students studying abroad to get fee reimbursement
Andhra Pradesh Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation (APKWDC) chairman Adapa Seshu said the state government will implement fee reimbursement to the 174 students, who were selected under the foreign education scheme during the previous TDP rule. He said these 174 students are pursuing education in other countries and had been waiting for the fee reimbursement.

Rising student visa numbers: More investigation is needed
The number of United Kingdom study visas issued to non-European Union citizens, both main applicants and dependants, over the last 15 years has hit a record high. The rise in the number of dependants is also very striking (now accounting for 17% of all visas when it was previously less than 5%).

Report: Students Leave $3.6 Billion on the Table in Unclaimed Pell Funds

But a new report from the National College Attainment Network (NCAN) shows that the high school class of 2022 left an estimated $3.58 billion on the table last year in the form of unclaimed Pell Grant funds—around 14% of annual Pell expenditures.
Coursera doubles down on degrees despite recent declines
Coursera has been rapidly looking to expand its offerings since it went public in early 2021. The company made progress on those goals this year, growing its entry-level professional certificates from 18 a year ago to 38 today, according to company officials. Nepal seeking to become an international education hub
Speaking at an event convened by the Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal, Shishir Khanal suggested the landlocked country could increase the number of international students it attracts significantly.
“Let us make Nepal a country where we can bring in the same number of students as we send abroad,” he said, according to local media reports. Khanal acknowledged that the quality of education from primary to basic school level can be improved but indicated that “but by taking advantage of the geographical location of Nepal”, the country can “become an international education hub”.
