F-1 visa premium processing: An incentive for Indian students to study in the US


The US attracts more than 2 lakh Indian students every year to pursue higher education. The main reasons for this are the quality of education offered by US universities, the diversity of the American culture, and the ease of obtaining an F-1 student visa. Before applying for an F-1 visa, students must possess a Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status (SEVIS Form I-20) and an F-1 student visa. Students can now opt for 15-day premium application processing to save time and hassle.


 

SEC offers scholarships for graduating seniors


Southside Electric Cooperative aims at helping graduating high school seniors with the costs of higher education. The Cooperative’s Southside Opportunity Fund is accepting through March 27. Proof of admission will be required if selected for a scholarship, which will be awarded this spring. Since 2016, the scholarship fund had awarded 141 grants totaling $163,000.


 

Edmonds Art Festival Foundation Offering $35000 in Scholarships to Arts Students


The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation is offering $35,000 in scholarships to students who will be pursuing college work in the visual arts. To qualify, students must be 2023 graduates from Edmonds School District high schools or Edmonds College students enrolled in the visual arts curriculum with clear intent to utilize their art in their work or continue to a four-year college degree. The amount granted for each scholarship will depend on the quality of the application and the number of applicants.


 

Rising Costs No Deterrent for Foreign Education Aspirants


A depreciating Indian currency against the US dollar has pushed both tuition fees as well as the cost of living in major countries of the Western world. This, however, is no deterrent for foreign education aspirants from Gujarat. According to the latest report by the state-level bankers’ committee (SLBC), applicants for education loans went up 14% in a year – a majority begin foreign education aspirants. The application grew from 2,917 in the third quarter of FY 2022 to 3,330 in the corresponding quarter of FY 2023.
