UK universities now educate more than 500,000 students offshore, according to the latest data. A report published by Universities UK International on 17 November says institutions enrolled 510,835 students via transnational education in 2020-21, the most recent year for which data are available.


 
Georgetown Students Awarded Prestigious Rhodes Scholarships

For the first time in over 20 years, two students from Georgetown have been selected for the internationally renowned Rhodes Scholarship. Kroger Awards $300K in Scholarships to Associates’ Children

The Kroger Co. Foundation announced the winners of this year’s scholarship program benefiting the children of its associates. The retailer awarded $300,000 to 120 students, who will receive $2,500 toward any accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational program. The scholarships were based on criteria including volunteer work, civic service, academic performance, work experience, and extra-curricular activities.

Harvard Peer Counseling Groups See Steady Influx of Students Since In-Person Return

Harvard’s five undergraduate peer counseling groups have seen a steady influx of student visitors this semester after resuming full in-person operation. This semester marks the first time since before the pandemic that all five peer counseling groups are “back up and running,” Counseling and Mental Health Services Chief Barbara Lewis said. More than 130 students sought support from the groups between September and October — in-person or via phone call — per a Harvard University Health Services spokesperson.

Less than half of students whose colleges abruptly close go on to enroll elsewhere

The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center teamed up with the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association to examine how students fare after their colleges close — especially when they do so without warning. Their findings suggest that closures add to the population of students who leave college without earning credentials.
