Fewer than two-thirds of students attending a four-year institution now manage to earn their degree within six years. A survey conducted digs into the reasons for the same and waitlists, difficult transfer procedures, and the lack of clear pathways to graduation emerge as the top 3 reasons.


 

Education Department Awards $177 Million in New Grants to Increase Competitive Integrated Employment


The purpose of these grants is to decrease the use of subminimum wages and increase access to competitive integrated employment for people with disabilities. These grants align existing and emerging employment opportunities with the needs of employers and the nation’s public infrastructure.

Abu Dhabi unveils $500 million scholarship program for 6,000 Emiratis


Abu Dhabi has unveiled one of its largest university scholarship programs to date, offering 6,000 Emiratis the chance to study in the US and Canada, with funding amounting to $500 million. Students with a minimum GPA of 65% in Grade 12 and 3.0 on the IELTS Test qualify for the program.


 

‘No-loan’ Financial Aid Colleges: What to Know


To ease the financial burden on families and students, a small subset of schools have instituted "no-loan" policies, removing federal loans from financial aid packages and replacing those funds with scholarships, grants, and work-study to ensure that students graduate without owing money.


 

Most US professors are trained at same few elite universities


The study reveals hiring bias at US institutions. The finding suggests that prestige is overvalued in hiring decisions and that academic researchers have little opportunity to obtain jobs at institutions considered more elite than those they were trained in.
