ChatGPT, a language model chatbot that can generate unbelievably articulate texts about pretty much anything — with a few notable exceptions, can be used to pump out 10-page-long papers or write codes. After some instructors sounded alarm bells about the AI tool and how it might disrupt academia, Nick Montfort, a professor of digital media at MIT, co-wrote a memo advising his peers to learn about the systems for themselves and adapt their courses to the technology.

UK may lift work hour limit during studies for international students - The PIE News
The UK government is considering increasing the number of hours international students can work during their studies in a bid to fill job vacancies across the country. Ministers are considering extending the work hour limit from 20 hours per week, with the government debating whether to increase the limit to 30 hours or to scrap it completely, according to a report from The Times.

Recent surveys show $49 billion is awarded in scholarships annually. But an estimated $100 million in scholarship money still goes unawarded each year. This is mostly due to a lack of applicants. “Apply for the big money, that’s great, but you also need to look at smaller scholarships. If you receive many small scholarships, they add up to big money,” said Alicia Keaton, Financial Aid Director at the University of Central Florida.

Deadlines Approaching for 2023-24 Fulbright College Scholarship Applications
The Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas is accepting scholarship applications for the 2023-24 academic year. "There are so many amazing opportunities for both need-based and merit-based funding, and we want our students to have access to as much financial support as possible," said Kathryn Sloan, interim dean of Fulbright College. The application process will close at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
