The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. These intervals are called "pomodoros," the plural in English of the Italian word pomodoro (tomato), after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer that Cirillo used as a university student. This technique has six steps, which are:

  1. Choose a task to be accomplished.

  2. Set the Pomodoro timer (traditionally to 25 minutes).

  3. Work on the task until the timer rings. Record the task status upon completion of each Pomodoro.

  4. Take a short break (traditionally 5 minutes).

  5. After every fourth Pomodoro, take a longer break (traditionally 15-30 minutes).

  6. Repeat steps 2-5 until the task is finished.

The Eisenhower Matrix is a productivity tool that helps you prioritize tasks based on their urgency and importance. It is named after former U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who is credited with saying, "What is important is seldom urgent, and what is urgent is seldom important."

  • Important and Urgent: Tasks in this quadrant are both important and urgent and should be done immediately. These tasks may include crises, deadlines, or emergencies.

Eat That Frog

The “Eat That Frog” technique was popularized by Brian Tracy in his book of the same name. The phrase "eat that frog" comes from a quote by Mark Twain: "If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."


The technique involves identifying the most important and challenging task of the day (i.e., the "frog"), and completing it first thing in the morning, before moving on to other tasks.
