Scholastic Assessment test
The Scholastic Assessment Test, or the SAT, is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. It is developed and administered by the College Board. The SAT assesses your college readiness and measures your critical thinking, problem-solving, and writing skills.

The SAT consists of three main sections: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, Math, and an optional Essay. The SAT is offered multiple times a year, and you can choose to take it as many times as you wish. Colleges often consider your highest score when evaluating your applications.

Over the years, post-COVID, many colleges and universities have moved towards test-optional or test-flexible admissions policies, meaning they do not require SAT scores for admission.
